Before - The story about Vernagt
The reservoir is located at an altitude of 1,689 m and has an area of approximately 100 hectares. The lake was named after the village of Vernagt, which sank in the dammed water. However, Vernagt was not always located directly on the lakeshore, as this reservoir was only created in the 1950s. Unfortunately, eight farms sank into its waters at that time. When the water level of the lake is low, the tower of a chapel can still be seen today.
